Our Objectives

 

In November 2007, and after a comprehensive consultation among members, the following objectives were adopted

 

  • To preserve members' cultural identity and promote artistic and other cultural initiatives.
  • To act as a resource for young people (up to twenty five) by providing advice and assistance and organizing programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:
    • Advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible adults
    • Advancing education
    • Relieving unemployment by the provision of advice and support on vocational and skills training
    • Providing recreational and leisure time activities
  • To relieve sickness, poor health and old age and preserve good health among members.
  • To assist in the treatment and care of community members suffering from mental illness, particularly isolation, trauma and depression
  • To promote racial harmony through co-operation and reinforcement of cultural exchange, mutual respect and tolerant social behaviour with other communities.
  • To raise awareness on crime, drug abuse, domestic violence, and other anti-social behavior
  • To promote income-generating activities for the benefit of members.
